One, two

Use fewer steps as you can to satisfy your users.

Practical example: The sign up form.

The user signs up to use your application, what do you think he is going to do immediately after that?

He wants to log in! So you, your user's favorite app producer have already thought that and directly log him in right after his sign up, a user surprised, a user happy :-).

Why to do one, two, three, if you are done with just one and two ;-).

We're stucked

In our book, one of the most important rules is be honest so we are being honest here with you: We are stucked.

Cajabox is a fun side-project for us, but this last two weeks, daywork has been consumig all of our time, so this little project has not been touched.

Anyway this is just a temporal issue, we still believe that we are on the right track with this app and will be working back on it ver, very soon.

Another brick in the box

His name is almost a trademark in the hispanic blogosphere, his designs are amazing and inspiring. Ladies an gentleman, please stand up to receive our new team's member, the great and only Alex Sancho.

Alex not only adds a new layer of complexity to our already dispersed timezones issue (he's from spain) but hopefully he will bring balance to the force and as the team's inteface designer will build the most awesome interface web 2.0 has ever seen.

He is totally in the same tune with us and has commited himself to Cajabox vision, which we won't tell you yet because it's --you know-- part of the rockstar mistery.

Be welcome Alex.

CakePHP

We have chosen to use the CakePHP framework. Why? Because it lets us work faster, better and simpler.

Sure RubyOnRails tempted us, but we don't want to learn another language neither use something just because all the cool kids are doing so. And we are cool kids too.

Besides that, now I form part of the Cake team as designer so it was really a no-brainer.

The logo

Finally here's the logo. What do you think? I know the box metaphore isn't very original but it's very related to our app and you will see it a lot across all the interface. Having a good metaphore is allways important.

Make us happy

Both of us, Diego and me , have a problem which happened to be the same problem. I won't tell you what problem is it because we decided not to tell what our app is about yet... but, we are sure that many people has this very same problem so we decided to team up and offer an app which solves this problem.

So, our test subjects will be ourselves in first place. We won't put any feature that we don't need just to impress us or making us buy the app because, well, it's built for us. We've figured that if we make something that solves our problem and at the same time make us happy then the chances are that it could make other people happy.

Now you have a hint now about the purpouse of Cajabox! Once finished, it will make you smile more often.
